Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari (Ibn Abi Jamrah)
Regular price £40.00The scholars of this Ummah have agreed that after the Qur'an, the Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari is the most authentic book in Islam. This is its most celebrated summary.
Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari by Imam Ibn Abi Jamrah al-Andalusi condenses one of the most authentic and comprehensive collections of prophetic narrations into 297 essential hadiths. A distinguished Andalusian scholar and Hadith master, Ibn Abi Jamrah gathered from each book of the Sahih only the narrations that carry the kernel of its meaning, at times a single hadith from an entire chapter, streamlining the work into an accessible form without compromising authenticity or depth.
When he observed a declining enthusiasm for memorizing hadith because of the length of their chains of transmission, he resolved to compile an abridged collection: a concise work, easy to memorize and rich in practical benefit. He omitted the full chains, keeping only the narrating Companion, so that the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ could be carried in the heart.
He named the work Jam' al-Nihayah fi Bad' al-Khayr wa al-Ghayah, The Gathering of the Outcome in the Best and Most Superior Beginning, hoping that Allah would grant whoever recites it or hears it the best of beginnings. The collection encapsulates the core of Imam al-Bukhari's monumental effort and serves as a practical gateway to the Sahih. It is a cornerstone work, respected across generations for its depth, clarity, and enduring relevance to contemporary spiritual and ethical questions, and it is still read and studied in circles of knowledge wherever there are Muslims.
"Bukhari's book is not recited at any time of difficulty, except that relief is obtained. Nor is it carried on any boat and that boat sinks under any circumstance."

The Imam, the Hadith Master, Shaykh Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi Jamrah al-Azdi al-Andalusi (d. 699 AH) was raised in al-Andalus in a household of knowledge and piety. He settled at last in Egypt, where seekers gathered around him at his zawiyah, and where he authored a complete tafsir of the Qur'an, this Mukhtasar, and its expansive commentary, Bahjah al-Nufus.
Shaykh Taj al-Din Ibn Ata'illah said, "I saw the Master of Messengers ﷺ in a dream. He said to me, 'Have you not visited the ruler of the East and the West?' I asked him, 'O my Master, who is the ruler of the East and the West?' He said, 'Abdullah ibn Abi Jamrah. His glance never fell on anyone except that they were rectified.'"
Ibn Ata'illah asked to be buried beside him.
On the blessed day of Jumu'ah, before this first batch entered the press, our entire team traveled to the printing factory. The gold illumination ink used on every page and every cover of this first printing was mixed by hand and handpicked by twelve members of our team, with Salawat recited over it as it was prepared.
Our team and I personally mixed the gold ink used in the printing, reciting Salawat from start to end.
We then inspected every page and every cover as the sheets came off the machines, reciting Salawat over them before binding.
Every copy of this first printing carries that gold.
