The Innocent Imam in Prison (24 Book Bundles)

Somewhere in the United States, an [innocent] imam is sitting in a cell. We're in contact with him.

He is awaiting trial for something he is unjustly accused of, in circumstances entirely beyond his control. And when we reached out to ask whether he would be willing to teach from the books we send him, he said yes before we finished asking the requests.

There are approximately 50 Muslims with him right now. Men who want to learn. Men who are asking for books. The sheikh has agreed to begin teaching the Shama'il of Imam Tirmidhi and to continue teaching from whatever we send him, in whatever capacity the situation allows, for as long as he is there. What arrives in that prison does not stay in one pair of hands. Books circulate. Conversations happen. Knowledge takes root in places where almost nothing else can.

We are committing to sending him a monthly box of books for 24 consecutive months. We are looking for 24 members of this reading community to each cover one book bundle to him. One spot represents one month of books arriving at that facility, one month of material for the sheikh to read from.
